Employees of one of the leading roof companies in Sarasota, Roofing by Curry, have signed up for a charity event called the Sarasota Slam, a local fishing tournament organized by the Manatee-Sarasota Builder Industry Association. The event took place last August 8-9, 2014 at the Marina Jack.
The Manatee-Sarasota Builder Industry Association is an organization of local builders whose mission is to promote a friendly, conducive building environment to all its members to enhance their professionalism and develop their leadership skills so they can provide better service to their customers and ultimately, to better the quality of life for all citizens. The Sarasota Slam is only one of the community programs that the organization launched. The organization is one of the founding members, along with the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) and their FBA Foundation, of the Future Builders of America program in 2003 that provided scholarships to students pursuing construction related education programs. Annually, the Sarasota Slam selects a local charity to receive a donation. This year, proceeds of the event will go to the Lloyd Williams Scholarship, also an initiative of the BIA that provides scholarships to those who look to pursue building related studies for post-secondary education but only for students in the community. It was created in 2004 in honor of Mr. Lloyd Williams, the past president of the BIA.
In the past, the Sarasota Slam has given to: Homes for our Troops, The Boys and Girls Clubs, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped, Camp Florida Fish Tales, American Cancer Society, Noah Beck Foundation, Future Builders of America, Salvation Army, Meals On Wheels, and many more.
Among the employees in attendance was Mr. Mike Helm, our unparalleled operations manager. As one of the most trusted Sarasota roof companies, Roofing by Curry, takes to heart the mission of the BIA by committing to provide quality roofing and customer satisfaction.
